Al-Zarqawi is a LOSER!

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi released a rare video of himself on April 25th, 2006, mocking the US military in Iraq, touting himself as a proficient military man and urging Iraqis to unite with him against US forces in Iraq.

Today, the Department of Defense released the video portions of al-Zarqawi’s previous propaganda tape that were edited out. The tape was confiscated in a raid on an al-Qaeda safehouse in Iraq.

Spokesman for US Command MAJ GEN Rick Lynch , who said in March 2006 that Iraqis are fed up with and fighting against the insurgency, explained about the newly released video:

"It’s supposed to be automatic fire, he’s shooting single shots. Something is wrong with his machine gun, he looks down, can’t figure out, calls his friend to come unblock the stoppage and get the weapon firing again.

"This piece you all see as he walks away, he’s wearing his black uniform and his New Balance tennis shoes as he moves to this white pickup. And, his close associates around him … do things like grab the hot barrel of the machine gun and burn themselves."

Um, how does this thing work again?  Isn’t this the same al-Zarqawi who said in his April 25th video:

“Why do not you (Pres. Bush) tell the truth about your soldiers and that their fighting will is rather weak, so that your people will know the truth about this war? Why do not you tell them that your soldiers are continuously committing suicide? Why do not you tell them that your soldiers cannot sleep without taking drugs and hallucination pills and that those pills make them lose their mind to allow your evangelical-Zionist war generals to drag them into the slaughter house? Why do not you tell them about the mass desertion and revolt [which] is growing among the ranks of your soldiers?"

Yeah, right, that’s the ticket.

Al-Zarqawi, having difficulty recruiting new willing members to his suicide squads, is changing gears and attempting to organize an army of sorts, and vows military action against the US if Iraqis will unite with him. This is a war he cannot win against the proficient, professional and highly trained military of the United States of America, but it would be a welcomed change none the less.

cantshootthis.gifIraqi officials, as well as rank and file Iraqi citizens, overwhelmingly reject and condemn Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and his tactics. They say al-Zarqawi and al-Qaeda are responsible for bombing Mosques and trying to provoke the country into a civil war.

During the January 2005 constitutional elections in Iraq, Iraqi police, military and security forces prepared for a barrage of terrorist attacks at the hand of al-Zarqawi that never came.  PBS’s Frontline special, The Insurgency, showed a priceless joyful celebration by Iraqi Army’s 1st Brigade, 2nd Battalion, who were protecting a polling station after it was clear al-Zarqawi was impotent to stop the elections (watch the video; its #4- A Long, Slow Process). In it, an Iraqi soldier led the rest in a chant/song mocking al-Zarqawi’s failure to stop democracy:

IRAQI SOLDIER: [in Arabic] I want to tell you the story of this courageous 2nd Battalion! [singing] Zarqawi, where are you today?

IRAQI SOLDIERS: [singing] Zarqawi, where are you today?
The 2nd Battalion is coming to get you!
Muhammad’s battalion is coming to get you!
Now the falcon is hunting you!

The message is clear:  al-Zarqawi is a LOSER!

This is what's wrong with the world.  You put a perfectly good automatic weapon in the hands of an Arab terrorist and he can't even figure out how to do better than single shots.  We need gun education, people!  How the he#@!...

Will that be on America's funniest home videos?

He will probably be sentenced to JV prison. He must have had a bad childhood, not being allowed to play with guns!

Yeah, you can tell he's a rookie when he directs the barrel of a live automatic weapon toward his buddies.

He should watch a real video:

JB, that was a great video. Thanks for linking to it! I enjoyed it.

The thing about this is that he is still very dangerous, but in a thug way. Ever see those rap gangsters holding their guns off to the side to be cool? I've seen robberies in which guys hold their guns like that... and they end up not being able to pull off their objective.

I think al-Zarqawi's taunting of the US military is "gangsta" and nothing more. He's still dangerous; this is the guy who personally beheaded Nick Berg and other Americans in Iraq. He's in charge of al-Qaeda in Iraq. But he's no soldier.

It will be harder for congressional Democrats and the MSM to sing hymns of praise to the military prowess of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and the "insurgency" after this video. Here is a guy who has alienated the Shi'ite and Kurd populations as well as large numbers of Sunnis. He failed completely to disrupt three election, the formation of a new government, he quarrels with UBL, he has failed to incite the long hoped-for civil war, and he is running out of suicide bombers. Now this.

Interesting that al-CNN broadcast this. Do you suppose they finally got a clue? Or was it just too funny to ignore?

Amy - glad you enjoyed it. My (USAF-ret.) uncle sent it to me yesterday. More here:

This man who is not wanted in his own county (Jordan) will likely die by the sword. He is an instrument of hate - the devil himself will tire of him eventually. I hope.

What a jerk. Look at the way he holds his weapon when he's finished firing. His friends don't even seem to mind (or notice) Ha ha! If his skills are indicative of the Iraqi insurgents, the US should be able to stand back and let the insurgents do the job for them!

Tom, obviously Zarqawi is a novice trying to pass himself off as something proficient. He's great at having his thugs kidnap people and then personally cutting their heads off, but he's no military leader. Dangerous, yes, professional, no.

Coincidentally I read this prediction yesterday

Zarqawi Scheduled for Martyrdom

http://www.strategypage.com/htmw/htmurph/articles/20060607.aspx

Looking at all the facts coming in now, and in light of what was happening with the Al Qaeda organization in general, I'm beginning to wonder exactly whose operation this was.

Was it really a US operation, or did the US just serve the purposes of Al Qaeda itself, who viewed al-Zarqawi as a destabilizing force in their organizational structure. Someone who served a purpose at one time, helping to focus the insurgency in its infancy, but ultimately a leader who had become a political liability, an increasingly expendable political liability.

In a very real sense, the death of al-Zarqawi may help to bring stability to Iraq, but not the kind of stability which will benefit US interests. I think it's important to consider the possibility that the US military has been manipulated into doing Al Qaeda's dirty work for them.

Interesting to entertain the possibility that the mighty US military has become little more than the pawn of a terrorist organization.

They needed to clean house, and we did the sweeping.
