Yawn.... Typical neo-con attack on people who lost their kids and want to know why.

Her son was killed in a senseless attack by Bush on a country that had no WMDs and not responsible for 9/11.

Did you look under your bed Amy? Maybe Bin Laden is there... Booooo

See you in the November polls. We are coming and all hell is coming with us. Booooo
June 4, 2006 | Unregistered CommenterThe boogey man
Boogey, wow, thanks for your thoughtful and intelligent comments from the Left. You've represented the intellect and ignorance of your side well.

Would it be better to have John Murtha or any number of anti-war nuts hugging Bin Laden? They say the same things but haven't lost anyone in the war. In case you don't recall, it was Cindy Sheehan who called al-Qaeda in Iraq "freedom fighters". That would make the photo pretty accurate.

Too funny! Tee-hee. :-)

Oh, dear! Not only you Americans losing face because of the Iraq war, it seems that your sense humour is the drain as well... No offense!

Come now, Amy Proctor, surely you can do better than this!

Perhaps let a non-American, non-white (brown to the core!), an asian and a citizen of a thrid world nation share a good funny picture with you and your fellow readers on your blog....

Unless, you don't think that we, poor,"backward" people don't have the right to share our thoughts, opinions, jokes and etc. You see, I heard and observe some disturbing rumours/news/facts? of Americans looking at us (Asians) as sub-humans and we are not equal with you all in any way...Never mind about that.

Here's the link:

Oh, by the way it comes with a video and story to go with it...Here's the kicker: the picture is actually real!

Hmmm, isn't it odd that liberals feel the need to hide their identity while claiming they are PROUD of who they are and what they stand for? At least Cindy Sheehan is open and honest.
June 4, 2006 | Registered CommenterAmy Proctor
i don't know much about cindy sheehan, but it annoys me when any critic of The War Against Terror is dismissed as a lover of bin Laden. Those are school-yard tactics.
June 4, 2006 | Unregistered Commenterjez
Open and HONEST,Amy? Come now, Sheehan is not honest.
June 4, 2006 | Unregistered CommenterRuth
Hey, Jez, Cindy Sheehan called them "freedom fighters" that clearly implies an admiration. If you want to know about schoolyard tactics, talk to Counter Culture who posts a photo from a much different time and occasion implying it is currently relevant.
June 4, 2006 | Unregistered CommenterRuth
Okay, I am going to say something rather infantile. Maybe her shirt says, "I want to be with stupid" "because I am stupid."

Stupid is as stupid does. Boy that's redundant.

Anyhoo, good pic, Amy!

Counter,

If you round out your knowledge of war with past US military engagements, you'll see that we are NOT losing the war in Iraq. That is an easy rhetorical myth from the left who 1) hate Bush, 2) are ignorant of the accomplishments in this war and 3) are unfamiliar with what victory looks like. I cannot blame you totally; since you hardly ever see what actually happens in Iraq and the MSM presents only the blood, guts and horror with none of the accomplishments or praise for locals. That's unfortunate. Of course, your agenda suits that of the MSM, so you are blind because you choose to be. That's another issue.

As for your lame attempt to put the Administration in bed with Saddam, I've addressed this many times on my blog. Here's the background and foreground of events surrounding the Rumsfeld/Saddam hand shake (you might want to ask yourself it if bothers you that Jimmy Carter and Cindy Sheehan have both embraced Hugo Chavez while you're at it): [this is all from the link YOU provided]
**********************
-By the summer of 1983 Iran had been reporting Iraqi use of using chemical weapons for some time. The Geneva protocol requires that the international community respond to chemical warfare, but a diplomatically isolated Iran received only a muted response to its complaints. It intensified its accusations in October 1983, however, and in November asked for a United Nations Security Council investigation.
-The U.S., which followed developments in the Iran-Iraq war with extraordinary intensity, had intelligence confirming Iran's accusations, and describing Iraq's "almost daily" use of chemical weapons, concurrent with its policy review and decision to support Iraq in the war. The intelligence indicated that Iraq used chemical weapons against Iranian forces, and, according to a November 1983 memo, against "Kurdish insurgents" as well.

-Donald Rumsfeld (who had served in various positions in the Nixon and Ford administrations, including as President Ford's defense secretary, and at this time headed the multinational pharmaceutical company G.D. Searle & Co.) was dispatched to the Middle East as a presidential envoy.

-Rumsfeld met with Saddam, (HENCE THE PHOTO) and the two discussed regional issues of mutual interest, shared enmity toward Iran and Syria, and the U.S.'s efforts to find alternative routes to transport Iraq's oil; its facilities in the Persian Gulf had been shut down by Iran, and Iran's ally, Syria, had cut off a pipeline that transported Iraqi oil through its territory. Rumsfeld made no reference to chemical weapons, according to detailed notes on the meeting

-Rumsfeld also met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Tariq Aziz, and the two agreed, "the U.S. and Iraq shared many common interests." Rumsfeld affirmed the Reagan administration's "willingness to do more" regarding the Iran-Iraq war, "BUT MADE CLEAR THAT OUR EFFORTS TO ASSIST WERE INHIBITED BY CERTAIN THINGS THAT MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR US, CITING THE USE OF CHEMICAL WEAPONS, POSSIBLE ESCALATION IN THE GULF AND HUMAN RIGHTS."

-Rumsfeld returned to Baghdad in late March 1984. By this time, the U.S. had PUBLICLY CONDEMNED IRAQ'S CHEMICAL WEAPONS USE, STATING, "The United States has concluded that the available evidence substantiates Iran's charges that Iraq used chemical weapons". BRIEFINGS FOR RUMSFELD'S MEETINGS NOTED THAT ATMOSPHERICS IN IRAQ HAD DETERIORATED SINCE HIS DECEMBER VISIT because of Iraqi military reverses and because "bilateral relations were sharply set back by our March 5 condemnation of Iraq for CW use, despite our repeated warnings that this issue would emerge sooner or later".

****************************

This was the first meeting between Saddam and the US. Saddam had only been President of Iraq since 1979. Four years. I would think you'd be glad that the US was trying to use diplomatic means to explore Iraq's WMD use and development.

So... what was your point? Don't be overly pleased with yourself that you found a photo of Rumsfeld and Saddam meeting as dignitaries for the first time. I can produce photos of your favorite Democrats...so if your implication is wrong doing (if it is, it's an uninformed implication), you've got some 'splainin' to do about your political buds.

Your inane attempt at a racial put down doesn't deserve a response.
June 4, 2006 | Registered CommenterAmy Proctor
Ruth, I think Cindy has been more honest about her opinions and stances than most Democratic politicians. That's why she looks like such an idiot.

Jez, Cindy isn't just any war critic, she's a war critic extraordinaire! She and Osama's sayings can only be told apart by the inarticulacy of Sheehan. Otherwise, they're pretty similar.

One Example:
“Bush is a terrorist”

CINDY: "We are not waging a war on terror in this country. We’re waging a war of terror. The biggest terrorist in the world is George W. Bush!"

Osama Bin Laden: "We believe that the biggest thieves in the world are Americans and the biggest terrorists on earth are the Americans."

She also sharest he rhetoric of others terrorists:

“Bush is a liar”

CINDY: “That lying bastard, George Bush, is taking a five-week vacation in time of war."

Ayman al-Zawahiri: "Bush, the liar, was forced to announce in November 2005 that he would withdraw his troops from Iraq. Since Bush is addicted to lying, he justified his withdrawal by saying that Iraqi forces have become well-trained.”

“Bush spreading freedom and democracy”

CINDY: "If George Bush believes his rhetoric and his bullsh**, that this is a war for freedom and democracy, that he is spreading freedom and democracy, does he think every person he kills makes Iraq more free? If he thinks that it’s so important for Iraq to have a U.S.-imposed sense of freedom and democracy, then he needs to sign up his two little party-animal girls. They need to go to this war."

Ayman al-Zawahiri: "My Muslim nation, you will not enjoy free elections, protected sanctity, governments which are being called to account by the people and a respectable judiciary unless you are free from the crusader-Zionist occupation and the corrupted governments, and this will not be fulfilled but with Jihad."

“Bush wants oil”

CINDY: "Are we supporting our troops dying and innocent Iraqi people being killed for oil and greed?"

Aljazeera: "Long before the September 11 attacks, Bush’s administration made plans for oil and war on Iraq. Days after this administration was incepted, a conflict has taken place inside the White House between the neo-conservatives at the Pentagon, on one side, and a combination of "Big Oil" executives and U.S. State Department "pragmatists" on the other.

In his book, "Against all Enemies," Richard A. Clarke mentions that Bush Senior was always thinking of ways in which he can put a direct hand on Iraqi oil, until Bush Junior holds office and fulfils his father’s dream in 2003."

“Bush and Zionism”

CINDY: "Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by George [W.] Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11."

Ayman al-Zawahiri: “O, Bush, the son of Bush, you should know that in spite of you, and even if it means you die of your frustration and lose your mind, removing Israel is an individual duty on every Muslim.

CINDY: "America has been killing people on this continent since it was started. This country is not worth dying for…"

I didn't even include comments by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
June 4, 2006 | Registered CommenterAmy Proctor
We're not losing Iraq. We're killing terrorists. Each kill is a victory. This "quagmire" myth is a political tactic to get elected, a trap liberals are all to happy to stick their head in.

Cindy Sheehan is a quack who thinks Katrina shouldn't have gotten so much media coverage. Apparently the death of her son overrides an entire U.S. city getting flattened by a hurricane.

Culture: Grow up. You found a picture. How incriminating. You're country might not be backward, but you certainly are. We have other pictures too, but libs don't seem to care about those.
June 4, 2006 | Unregistered CommenterTim
Amy, Cindy Sheehan and her husband met with George Bush shortly after Casey's death. She claimed to support the president, trust his intentions, and feel comforted by his words.

Now she acts like he "refused" to meet with her. She has nothing but disdain for his intentions and she calls him a liar.

It just seems that she was either lying then or now.
June 4, 2006 | Unregistered CommenterRuth
Ruth, true.
June 4, 2006 | Registered CommenterAmy Proctor
Amy: sure, it's just something I've seen pretty much every critic accused of at one time or another. Just wanted to register that it annoys me.

Tim: "We're killing terrorists. Each kill is a victory."

This is not necessarily true, if the ill will generated by a single kill induces two civillians to become terrorists, then each kill is a loss. We need to examine the level of insurgent activity to judge the effectiveness of our actions.
June 5, 2006 | Unregistered Commenterjez
"This is not necessarily true, if the ill will generated by a single kill induces two civillians to become terrorists, then each kill is a loss."

That is a big "if" Jez. I know the leftist mantra is that we are "creating" more terrorists by being over there, though they have no way of identifying that, and the logic behind it is weak to say the least. The majority of Iraqis want us over there, so this myth that we have become "invaders" and are creating more terrorists is ubsurd. The insurgency level is based on virtually every Islamic terrorist group in the Middle East recognizing that if we outlast them, there day is over. They will continue to throw everything they have at Iraq, because if Iraq becomes a stable democracy, they are in a world of poo.
June 5, 2006 | Unregistered CommenterTim
Tim: well I chose the numbers to make the mechanism clear, not because I think there's a 1:2 ratio involved. The problem with your simplistic "every kill is a win" statement is all I wanted to flag up.
If they are throwing everything they have at Iraq, and if they were throwing everything at it yesterday too, then shouldn't your "kill=win" program be effective, and the level of insurgency be falling? My real point (the logic behind which is fine, btw) is that it is the level of insurgency which is the criterion for a "win", not how many kills we can score.
June 5, 2006 | Unregistered Commenterjez
Again resorting to falsefying facts (a neo-con specialty). So now Murtha is the bad guy for speaking up? I cant wait to see his photo with Bin Laden. What about Rumsfeld's ex-generals. Are they also going to pose with Bin Laden?

Your moment of truth is coming in November.Your operations will be shut down and America will be free and respected once again.

P.S. THE DIXIE CHICKS ROCK. AND THEY ARE STILL ASHAMED OF BUSH... YES!!!!
June 5, 2006 | Unregistered CommenterThe boogey man
Boogey, I used to really like the Dixie Chicks. Fortunately I didn't buy any of their CDs before they made their stupid statement overseas. You and their other 2 fans should buy as many CDs as possible, for their sake.

Your other comments are asinine and don't deserve a response.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you hide behind anonymity? Are you ashamed of your beliefs?
June 5, 2006 | Registered CommenterAmy Proctor
tbm-
Iraq invaded Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Three strikes and you're out. This recent war is a contunuation of the cease fire agreements Sadam did not honor (no honor among thieves). There were ten reasons given before we kicked off this continuation. Securing WMDs was just one of the ten.
What did Italy do to us? (that could have been Cindy's cry in 1943). It took her how long to put a marker on his grave? She is being used (useful idiots) by the left and is unpatriotic. Many, many, many more wives and mothers know why their sons died to defend our country. Too bad Cindy didn't take the time to ask him before and is dishonoring him now. Shameful display of using his service to elevate her status.
June 5, 2006 | Registered CommenterChief RZ
"Your other comments are asinine and don't deserve a response."

Yes they do, Amy. If I may?

"So now Murtha is the bad guy for speaking up?"

For declaring U.S. Marines guilty before a fair trial takes place? You betcha. And you are the bad guy as well for being a partisan hack, defending something you'd be appalled at if committed by a Republican.Try at least to look objective in your anonymity.

"Your moment of truth is coming in November.Your operations will be shut down and America will be free and respected once again"

Like it was respected when Clinton committed perjury and pardoned convicted traitors? What is your idea of "respect"? I'll believe that when you let your wife or daughter spend 10 minutes alone in the oval office with Slick Willy, or the Demented Dean, or and other Dem. If that is "respect", you liberals can keep it. The U.S. doesn't want respect, it wants to be left alone. And don't get your hopes up about this pipe dream that the Dems will take over. They've been saying that since 1998 and it never seems to happen.

"P.S. THE DIXIE CHICKS ROCK. AND THEY ARE STILL ASHAMED OF BUSH... "

They're as dumb as rocks, and Texas is ashamed of them, in case you've missed it.

"Shameful display of using his service to elevate her status."

Exactly. The rest of us actually respect her son's sacrifice, we don't squat and piss all over it the way she is now to get some desperately needed attention.

Jez: I understand what you are saying, all I'm saying is that a high insurgency level doesn't mean we are losing, it shows how important this is to the terrorists. Our win will gut them.

June 5, 2006 | Unregistered CommenterTim
Tim, I couldn't have said it better.

Kudos!
June 5, 2006 | Unregistered CommenterAmy P
Alright, who left the dang barn door open again?!

Tim, from me to you, "Stay on their six man - you got 'em!"

Amy? In my best Monty Python voice, "Nudge-nudge, wink-wink."

I can't believe that there is still a defense for Cindy. Sad. So many more good causes out there and so little time. Old news, boring, and predictable. Just accept the fact that Amy is right, the image is too close to reality, and the point is Cindy is the lefts doom.

Run, don't walk to the exits Moonbats! If you keep propping up Murtha and Sheehan as your icons in this foray, you're just gonna shoot your election hopes in the foot.

Now, bringing up how the Oval Office was turned into the Mustang Ranch, the Lincoln Bedroom a high priced Motel 6, and the Map Room the local Pods Storage?! Now, that's some lively discussion!
