Bill Clinton Says He Opposed Iraq War From the Beginning
Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 12:51AM Bill Clinton lied on the campaign trail stumping for wife Hillary, embarrassing her by claiming he was against the Iraq war from the beginning. Actually, Hillary was for the war before she was against it. So was Bill.
The Washington Post put it this way:
Former president Bill Clinton said on Tuesday that he "opposed Iraq from the beginning," apparently glossing over the more nuanced views of the war he has expressed over time. Clinton made the remarks while campaigning for his wife in Iowa - a largely anti-war state for Democrats -- as he expressed bitterness over getting a tax cut with money that could have been spent on the military.
"Even though I approved of Afghanistan and opposed Iraq from the beginning, I still resent that I was not asked or given the opportunity to support those soldiers," Clinton said. He said he "should not have gotten" the tax cuts he received as a wealthy earner.
Apparently Bill doesn't remember the Iraq Liberation Act he signed into law on October 31, 1998 in which he advocated regime change in Iraq.

haha haha, he resents his tax cut huh? then why did he take it if he resents it so much? if he is filing a joint return then that must mean that Hillary liked the tax cut and overrode his resentment and made him take the tax cut.
I remember his whole administration was like this. I doubt most of the State of the Union speeches by him contained facts that are reliable. I remember many comments about this at those times of the year. If Hillary gets in to the WH, it will be more of the same.
aww come on now, this is BILL CLINTON you're talking about, if HE says it, it must be true!! (no matter how many clips you can find him saying otherwise).
and Bush hoodwinked him into signing that bill in '98 with faulty Bush intel, right?
And we expected better from a man who's defining moment was to question the definition of "is"?
I don't expect anything different from Bill Clinton. I am surprised, however, that's he's this stupid in public with such easy to confirm contradiction of fact.
I understand that during this speech supposedly on behalf of his wife's campaign, he said "I" 97 times and "Hillary" less than 5. What an unimaginable egomaniac!
I'm hoping America will realize by next year that we cannot tolerate another 4 years of either Clinton in the White House. These people are morally incompetent.
Bill .. hahahaha ... opposed ... hahahahahaha ... the Iraq war ... haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ... at first. ROFLMAO.
