Hillary Calls Petraeus Liar on 'Failed Iraq Policy' Testimony; Petraeus Reminds Clinton Congress is Complicit
Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 09:34AM We've all seen the video of Sen. Hillary Clinton lecturing GEN Petraeus Tuesday that his testimony requires a "wiling suspension of disbelief," but as Clinton touted the war in Iraq as a failed policy, Petraeus reminds Clinton that she well knows that the Congress and Senate have sustained and consented to this "failed policy". Both clips below:
PETRAEUS: AS YOU KNOW, THIS POLICY IS A NATIONAL POLICY THAT RESULTS FROM POLICIES PUT FORWARD AT ONE END OF PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE WITH THE ADVICE, CONSENT AND RESOURCES PROVIDED AT THE OTHER.
You tell her, general.

All I can say is, I hope the VOTERS see this clip.
In this 1-minute clip, you will see the primary reason why this woman is unfit to be commander-in-chief.
She actually embodies what she accuses Bush of doing - using a top field commander for political purposes. She refuses to believe him, although he has hazarded 4 of the last 5 years of his life in sacrifice to our country and this mission. She tries to score cheap political points at the expense of a noble, modest, respectful Soldier who will not answer in kind.
GEN Petraeus' brilliant come back - essentially, "this is your fault, Mrs. Clinton" is poignantly returned.
This clip should be the basis of the 2008 Anti-Clinton Swift Boat ad campaign.
Well-done, Amy, in exposing the rank arrogance and shameless political opportunism of Senator Clinton. My hope and expectation is that most Americans concerned about national security will see what I saw - a person completely unfit to be commander-in-chief of the world's most professional, formidable military force.
It just amazes me. One aditional thing that i would have put in, because i am not as professional as Petraeus is:
Enemies gain sustaining moral support every single time an American Senator states that they would bring the troops home, that the war is lost or any other statement that tells the enemy that they may well yet prevail. This feeling that they can still win is what keeps them in the fight and is in fact the single best recruitment tool that the enemy possess. Therefore Senator Clinton, I propose that it takes significantly more than a "willing suspension of disbelief," but a willing disregard for your country's, its citizen's and its military personell's safety to inform the enemy that it can win.
They still hand out Attaboy Awards? He gets a big one
Unlike political operatives against the war, the surge, the President, the general, Iraqis, and success in Iraq, GEN Petraeus responds with dignity and self-control. That one sentence of his SLAMS all the two-faced politicians posturing against Petraeus' recommendations because, eh hem, THE WAR POLICY WOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE CONGRESS CONSENTING AND FUNDING IT.
Hypocrites.
Right on Amy. Great post. These Dems have hurt themselves more in two days than we could have ever hurt them with a thousand articles based upon a thousand truths. These few days -- appropriately surrounding the anniversary of that fateful day -- may just prove to be the turning point in our long national struggle for direction.
A sad part is, this woman thinks we're too dumb to understand what she did... like nobody else has a vocabulary developed well enough to know what the words coming out of her mouth meant. I fully expect, if she hasn't done so already, to claim she didn't call him a liar... that that isn't what she meant.
But...the saddest part is that some will believe her.
Keep showing videos like these Amy. Hillary will implode on herself soon enough, but my problem is that most of the American electorate that are for Hillary are too ignorant of, and blinded by ,Hillary's cult of personality that they cannot see how unfit she is to be Commander in chief.
They'll vote for her based on her promises but they'll find that she'll not live up to ANY of them Just like Bill...
Here you go, Amy. I thought about you while I was making it.
