Bush: 'I Will Leave the Presidency With My Head Held High'
Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 09:26AM In this poignant interview with Charles Gibson, President George W. Bush discussed the intelligence failure and the war in Iraq and how he never sold his soul for politics. Here are some excerpts:
This is a president wearied by 8 years of brutal personal attacks but he shouldn’t doubt himself. Ridding the world of Saddam Hussein and his heirs has made the Middle East more stable than it has been in decades and brought freedom to millions. He fought a relentless democratic party bent on personal attacks and undermining his character for political reasons. But in 8 years, the U.S. hasn’t had a single attack on her soil.
Job well done, Mr. President.

History will remember Mr. Bush as the liberator of 50 million Muslims, the pioneer of faith based assistance in government, higher standards in public education, valiant and successful protector of America in her hours of need, and the initiator of reforms in Social Security that were refused by democrats,
While contemporary commentators may condemn President Bush, historians will condemn them in due season.
George W. Bush was/is a great and historical president.
LOL Johnny that's most funny thing I have read in a long time! You are too funny....that was meant to be a joke, right?!?!
I ALWAYS find it curious why conservatives point to Bush keeping us safe because there have not been any attacks since 9/11. WHO WAS PRESIDENT ON 9/11?? Bush was! Bush was attacked! Blame Clinton all you want, but it happened on Bush's watch. If we were attacked on 9/11/2009, who will you blame, Bush or Obama??
Also, did you catch the part in the interview where Bush said WMDs were not found in Iraq...??? Guess conservatives will have to give that arguement up now, too!
"...Also, did you catch the part in the interview where Bush said WMDs were not found in Iraq...??? Guess conservatives will have to give that arguement up now, too!"
Ah, jeez. Don't you knuckleheads ever get tired of making idiotic statements?! Will there ever be a time that you grow up and look beyond the confines of your small minds to see the world as it really is?
Another example of "Liberalism is the politics of adolescents"; or, "children playing adults."
I for one am certainly glad President Bush was in office on 9/11. Could you imagine the alternative?
But in 8 years, the U.S. hasn’t had a single attack on her soil.
I suppose you've never heard of 9/11, have you? Something about an attack on US soil?
and the initiator of reforms in Social Security that were refused by democrats,
Wow, the lies just keep on coming. SS "reform" was pushed in 2005. A simple calander would tell you tell you that this was before 2006. Therefore the REPUBLICANS OWNED BOTH HOUSES OF CONGRESS AND THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH. Yet you blame the Democrats. Stupidity or lies, I cannot tell which.
It is stupidity, Punchy.....when Bush supporters are confronted by hard facts, including the man himself saying NOW that there were NO WMD, they lash out at the people who point to those facts as being liberal and 'knuckleheads.'
I would love to have envisioned the alternative to 8 years of Bush.....action on global warming, a world united in action instead of an America that's hated in huge sections of the world, a President we can put in public without being embarassed at his stupidity, American troops doing a job to eliminate al Queida instead of running a country that didn't need invading....yes, that would have been nice.
Isn't it funny that those people who call themselves "Christians" are the very first to call others names, provoke and generally forgo any semblance of tolerance. Yes, mighty Christian in character indeed........
You ARE the Weakest Link.......you may leave now.
OMG like......! I think I agree with you. To bad he spent so much money though!
Gary - are you trying to say that Bush didn't admit there were no WMDs in Iraq????
“…It is stupidity, Punchy.....when Bush supporters are confronted by hard facts, including the man himself saying NOW that there were NO WMD, they lash out at the people who point to those facts as being liberal and 'knuckleheads.'…”
OK knucklehead Sal, we answer the questions… again:
EDITORIAL EXEGESIS
“Hear about the 550 metric tons of yellowcake uranium found in Iraq? No? Why should you? It doesn’t fit the media’s neat story line that Saddam Hussein’s Iraq posed no nuclear threat when we invaded in 2003. It’s a little known fact that, after invading Iraq in 2003, the U.S. found massive amounts of uranium yellowcake, the stuff that can be refined into nuclear weapons or nuclear fuel, at a facility in Tuwaitha outside of Baghdad. In recent weeks, the U.S. secretly has helped the Iraqi government ship it all to Canada, where it was bought by a Canadian company for further processing into nuclear fuel—thus keeping it from potential use by terrorists or unsavory regimes in the region. This has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media. Yet, as the AP reported, this marks a ‘significant step toward closing the books on Saddam’s nuclear legacy.’ Seems to us this should be big news. After all, much of the early opposition to the war in Iraq involved claims that President Bush ‘lied’ about weapons of mass destruction and that Saddam posed little if any nuclear threat to the U.S. This more or less proves Saddam in 2003 had a program on hold for building WMD and that he planned to boot it up again soon…Saddam acquired most of his uranium before 1991, but still had it in 2003, when invading U.S. troops found the stuff… That means Saddam held onto it for more than a decade. Why? He hoped to wait out U.N. sanctions on Iraq and start his WMD program anew. This would seem to vindicate Bush’s decision to invade.” —Investor’s Business Daily
I’d post a link, but unless you have a subscription, you couldn’t access it.
CNN Reported:
“…Hussein also can be heard speaking with high-ranking Iraqi officials about deceiving United Nations inspectors looking into Iraq's weapons program, which his son-in-law, Lt. Gen. Hussein Kamel, oversaw…”
But hey, why stop there? Let’s talk about his propensity to use WMDs when he had them. How about the mass murder using WMDs against the Kurds? Warning: Graphic photos.
The BBC said this
“…I would love to have envisioned the alternative to 8 years of Bush.....action on global warming…”
Global warming:
I DEVOTED six years to carbon accounting, building models for the Australian Greenhouse Office. I am the rocket scientist who wrote the carbon accounting model (FullCAM) that measures Australia's compliance with the Kyoto Protocol, in the land use change and forestry sector…
1. The greenhouse signature is missing. We have been looking and measuring for years, and cannot find it..."
Hmmm, Liberals blaming humans for causing climate change. That's a novel idea.
“…A world united in action instead of an America that's hated in huge sections of the world…”
And yet thousands of people come to the US annually seeking residency and asylum. They must really hate us in spite of the mass foreign aide we provide; both in commerce and military support.
“…a President we can put in public without being embarassed at his stupidity…”
Ahh, a puppet president, I see, someone who is ‘politically correct’.
“…American troops doing a job to eliminate al Queida instead of running a country that didn't need invading...”
You’re right, we should have let the violations of UN resolutions, and cease fire agreement continue as well as ignore the ejection of the UN inspectors after requesting access to a particular site. Funny thing occurred; Al Qaeda soon entered Iraq and claimed ownership of the war… right before we dismembered and embarrassed it.
yes, that would have been nice.
Isn't it funny that those people who call themselves "Christians" are the very first to call others names, provoke and generally forgo any semblance of tolerance.
An adolescent comment implying that because stupid and ridiculous comments aren’t allowed to go unchallenged, we must be evil. Grow up boy.
"I suppose you've never heard of 9/11"
I have not, is that like some kinda of coded message? Are you mad because Bush did not send you a birthday Card for your party for 9/11 whatever that means?
"Something about an attack on US soil?"
Are you speaking about the Al Qaeda, (Osama bin Laden) admitted Terrorist attacks on US buildings by hijacking US planes the morning of September 11th 2001?
The press question Bill Clinton and said he knew they were going to attack the US with planes as weapons, a few months after 09/11/2001. Bill said he did not believe the reports could actually be true. He did not think the militant Islamist could actually pull it off, but he had full knowledge of the idea to use planes as weapons. He told the press that. He also told the press he gave Bush administration upon his leave all previous documentation on Al Qaeda. Bush said that did not happen, and I believe Bush. Why do you think Bush's friends were stealing US secret documents that became such wide news, and it was about terrorist responses of the Clinton administration. It became known Clinton was too busy with his social sensual life to study or care about human lives in the United States of America. Clinton acted as if the White House was a college frat house.
Operation Bojinka dates back to 1996 and TWA flight 800. but even earlier in the first world trade center bombings when the two suspects secretly to the CIA that planes may be used for bombs. (Ramzi Yousef and the Bojinka-
related plot).
“The Sociology and Physiology of Terrorism: Who becomes a terrorist and why?"( pub. July 1999. Given to the Pres. on his desk in the Oval office 09/11/1999. It puts all terrorist profiles in this report' it mentions plans to use plans as weapons. Operation Bojinka, in the report was about an Al Qaeda off-shoot to use plans against the French Eiffel Tower. This was reported by capital hill,I grabbed it off the Internet, is was already redacted but by-lines to what was redacted, and Clinton quickly placed these documents 2.5 million under classifications higher than top-secret for 50 years. He has that privilege. Bush is also complicit, but our gov. is not transparent. Some info can reveal our special agents and put them in danger. So not releasing them as a good side too.
This report was ordered by Clinton in late June 1999, and put on his desk on September 11th 1999. It showed the twin towers, and a section on terrorist hijackings, and the use of planes as missiles. The report was later released in late 2001 and was heavily redacted. However, it did not have the specific plans for the US 2001 attack by terrorists.
Mohamed Atta, Zacarias Moussaoui and Mujahid Abdulquaadir Menepta were noted by Clinton authorities at a roadside motel outside Oklahoma City a while before the attacks. Clinton was more interested in interns. He did not care.
The New York Post reported that three months before 9/11/01 Brian Sullivan, a retired special agent from the Boston, advised Cong. Mass. John Kerry in a May 7, 2001 citing the critical flaws of security at Logan Airport. Sullivan gave Kerry a security tape to help explain upgrade security measures at the airport, because talks had been through the President's office of an impending attack. Kerry threw the video cassette take in the trashcan, citing that he doesn't think Terrorists are bad people. The Republicans are just paranoid. Bush had no legal authority to force a state to do anything. It is part of our Constitution.
The report showed that easy access to terrorist was to be solved immediately. Kerry said my wife is a Gazzilionaire and to increase Mass. citizen taxes means that my wife will pay more to the state and federal coffers. I cannot have that happen, I will throw that security measure away.
Bill Clinton bombed an aspirin factory and Osama bin laden in 1998 declared war on the USA as a result of Bill Throwing missiles into Afghanistan. Bill said, well I bombed an aspirin factory, that should scare them off.
In order to solve the issue, Bill Clinton forced the CIA, NSA, FBI, and other central intelligence groups not to communicate together. It cost too much money. He left Bush with a defunct intelligence service.
The September eleventh Terrorist attacks were a surprise and our Presidents do not run the country. Foreign relation committees, headed by democrats did nothing but think about their poll numbers and their parties and dinners.
The terrorist attacks were not on Bush's watch, because that was not his job. How can Bush stand on every street corner looking up in the sky with a cellphone protecting every citizen of the USA.
No-one knew of the attacks on that day but the Al Qaedas. Not Clinton, nor Bush. Yet, the nation knew of impending terrorist attacks because the media was relating Washington warnings throughout the summer of 2001.
Osama said that attacks against the US are in response to Clinton's actions and centuries of Jihad against the infidels. Bush was never or every will be blamed, except by trolls.
You are a troll.
"Why do you think Bush's friends were stealing US secret documents that became such wide news,"
Actually it was Clinton's friends stealing US secret reports. This was in the news heavily, and part of the 911 Commission. They also said it was not Bush's fault. So whomever says it is if fault is a troll =-- because our US government and both parties deny it. Yes Hilly held up a NY paper in the Senate that stated Bush knew, but that was to deflect accusation that she and Clinton had full knowledge of these impending US soil attacks. However, there is no evidence at all for anyone knowing about the plans for 09/11/2001.
" "Christians" are the very first to call others names,"lol.
I'm to busy and do not have time to type slow. My grammar sucks on the above posts. But the message is there. I have to take a break.
The terrorist attacks were not on Bush's watch,
Ha ha ha!! This is the funniest thing I've read in weeks.
"Ha ha ha!! This is the funniest thing I've read in weeks."
Almost as funny as Clinton letting Bin Laden go 4 times. But hey, that's ancient history. A lying sex offender who commits perjury like Clinton is above all criticism.
Agree with Johnny that Bush has the marks of greatness. For the popular media zombies, I offer:
BUSH FOR DUMMIES
• Liberated 50 million people.
• Lybia renounced its WMD plans in 2003.
• Broke up the Kahn Nuclear Ring in ME.
• Rectified intelligence problems caused by Dems, (ie Church, Clinton and Gorelick) that led to 9-11.
• Prevented dozens of terrorist attacks at home.
• Redirected millions to AIDS victims in Africa.
• Created a market based prescription plan for seniors that works.
• Correctly predicted that useful stem cells would be found from non embryo sources.
• Conducted himself with civility in spite of uncivil and savage attacks on himself .
He was the 'Right Man' for all the reasons David Frum described...and I agreed...and I also voted for him...the alternative was insane. But there it ends. President Bush did not defend the Constitution as he swore to do. The open borders issue was a diaster on his watch...he could have closed the borders simply by enforcing the laws already on the books...he neglected his duties on this issue that infuriates many Americans and I don't blame them! It certainly was an impeachable offense but the Democrats were solidly behind him.
The SPP/NAU should also be impeachable but then again the Democrats and the New World Order clan were overwhelmingly behind him.
Also Bush knew that Clinton's Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) was definetly causing great financial problems within the country and he did absolutely nothing about it...he should have constantly brought this issue to the forefront for ignorant Amercans until they understood exactly where the problem orignated albeit the press would never report it...although I believe in a free press I also believe in an honest press...from the New York Times on down, they were never honest and be that it may, I would have shut them down. It (the press) was and still is the main source of educating the voting public of erroneous information...at time treasonous...and Bush did nothing about it.
Gary & Gold - I think you both drank the Kool-Aid! What a couple of whack-jobs!
Gary - you can cite crap all day - BUSH HIMSELF said WMDs were not found! I mean c'mon, the guy who tried to sell us WMDs in Iraq has to admit they weren't even there and YOU can't even do that!!!
Gold - Didn't Bush receive a daily briefing on August 6, 2001 with the headline "Bin Laden Determine to Strike US"??? I think he did. I think his administration probably had SOME idea of what was going on. Maybe al-Qaeda attacked because of Clinton, or maybe they attacked because they have hated us in that region FOR YEARS! Or maybe they did it to test a new and inexperienced president.
You're going to have to do better than that Gold...
Aren't libs the ones who lauded John McCain for his gracious exit of the presidential campaign? I guess it doesn't cut both ways, does it! What a bunch of hypocrites!
If you want to play the "on Bush's watch" game, watch out. Obama predicted a million jobs lost in his administration because of the economy. Be prepared to take credit for it. And the WMD attack that is emminent... credit, Obama.
This'll be fun.
Don't forget the Twin Towers attacks of 1994 or 95 under Clinton's watch, or the assassination attempt on Bush Sr. in 93, or the USS Cole...
The fact is that Bush inherited terrorism problems from Clinton and 9/11 happened a whopping 8 months into his presidency. Let's remember who Osama bin Laden credited with emboldening him to commit the 9/11 attacks..BILL CLINTON and Les Aspen's bungling of Somalia.
And don't forget when Iran released US hostages in 1981....the day of the Reagan inauguration.
Democrats are weak on national defense and the world knows it.
But if the standard now is whose watch it happens on, these next 4 years are going to be great!
Can someone hand me some salt for my popcorn? This is going to be a great show!
I doubt history will give credit to Bush where it's due. Think about who writes history now. It will be purged of anything good directed at Bush. About the only ones who'll even remember the times that he has been right will be us. When we're dead and gone? Nobody will.
Bush has never lied about what he is, a lukewarm conservative at best, but the alternative to him would have been much worse. Besides, he has done some good things and not nearly as bad as the "other side" makes out.
I sometimes wonder what it's like to always be angry. If anything describes the left these days it's that one word. They're always angry. Sometimes I don't believe they even know what they're angry about so they make up stuff to feed it and keep it going until there's something tangible to point to as the cause. Perpetual anger is not a very pleasant state in which to live. It's human to have bouts of it over stupid stuff but to wallow in it is insane.
Ref: "Gold - Didn't Bush receive a daily briefing on August 6, 2001 "
We don't know what Bush recieved in his daily briefing and we don't know how much information that Clinton told Bush during the transfer of power...but we do know Clinton knew one hell of a lot of info regarding 911 as early as 1998...he even had the phone number from the satelite phone that made one of the initial calls from Indonesia...from that guy from Yemen. And a whole lot more than Clinton ever let known to the American people... Clinton knew too much for a traitor in the White House!
Saddam Hussein may or may not have had WMD...a little dab'll do ya. You don't need stockpiles, which is what we were looking for. It wasn't exactly stockpiles that killed over 100,000 Kurds.
My husband, Johnny, is an active duty soldier in the Army. He recently had to go through nuclear, biological and chemical training again, which consists of going into a hut with his NBC mask and having nbc released into the room. They have to keep their mask off for 30 seconds before putting it on, exposing their eyes and nose to the agents. Some soldiers can't take it and flee from teh room like little scared girls. I know i would. The small amount of agents exposed to the soldiers are overwhelming.
Point being, it doesn't take much.
There WERE chemical, biological and nuclear agents found in Iraq since we've been tehre, but those stories were largely overlooked becasue they weren't in big missiles pointed at the U.S. in stockpiles. My husband was in Baghdad in the summer of 2003 with the 82nd ABN DIV and I remember seeing on CNN soldiers unearthing WMD in cylinders in the backyards of Baath party leaders.
Bush was referring to the stockpiles, not bits and pieces.
Even if there were no WMD, we did the right thing and Iraq is better off.
I've told this story before on this blog, so this'll be short. We have friends who were Special Forces in 2002/2003 just before the start of the invasion. This friend's mission was to gain intelligence in Turkey and to try to negotiate with Turkey to allow the U.S. to have landspace for aircraft for the invasion, which Turkey ultimately refused, you may remember.
On our friends trek through northern Iraq in March 2003, he observed big flatbeds carrying what looked like missiles and cylinders going over the Syrian border.
Hmmmm....
These were little known facts, but those of us in the military know this as a matter of fact. A lot of classified info goes unpublished as well. There were some WMD in Iraq, just not the stockpiles we thought were there.
Saddam promised to perfect his WMD program by 2007. That didn't happen.
In any event, Bush absolutely assured that there will be no WMD coming out of Iraq. No matter how faulty the intelligence, we know for a fact that won't happen.
Mission accomplished.
Steph, you'd think that winning the White House, Congress and Senate would make these people happy but apprenently not. They don't want diversity, they want world domination.
"Gary & Gold - I think you both drank the Kool-Aid! What a couple of whack-jobs!
Gary - you can cite crap all day - BUSH HIMSELF said WMDs were not found! I mean c'mon, the guy who tried to sell us WMDs in Iraq has to admit they weren't even there and YOU can't even do that!!!"
See Amy's previous comment and try to expand your brain to understand in context the statements made by Bush.
The kool-aid is bitter indeed, but not fatal. Your ignorance is.
Angry Dem, I'd be careful about using the "kool aid" comparison. Republicans have legitimate ideological differences from Democrats and to be intolerant and marginalizing those as being "kool aid" drinkers is really offense. Or maybe you don't know your history and only know the term and not the story behind Jim Jones.
We have well thought out beliefs and arguments to defend and describe our positions from abortion to the war in Iraq. You only marginalize it because your positions aren't quite as defensible. You know, like "it's above my pay grade." Good one.
Democrats are weak on national defense and the world knows it.
But if the standard now is whose watch it happens on, these next 4 years are going to be great!
Can someone hand me some salt for my popcorn? This is going to be a great show!
How disgusting. You're openly hoping and giddy about another attack on the US. You're everything wrong about the marginalized, fractured, demented sect of the Republican party.
Just ridiculous.
Nice try, Punchy. Show me where I said I am "openly hoping and giddy about another attack on the US:. I am actually quite nervous about it.
But whatever happens, with the economy or foreign policy, etc., it will be the Democrats fault. Do you disagree? How can you based on Angry Dems comments?
Please don't pretent to be bipartisan.
And let us not forget the press release ignored by the mainstream media in july of '04 - "Twenty experts from DOE’s national laboratory complex packaged 1.77 metric tons of low-enriched uranium and roughly 1000 highly radioactive sources from the former Iraq nuclear research facility."
1.77 metric tons is slightly more than "bits and pieces"
U.S. Removes Iraqi Nuclear and Radiological Materials which can be found here:
http://www.energy.gov/news/1388.htm
I'm not even sure that would make them happy. Anger has become a habit, like always picking out the well worn shoes because they're the most comfortable.
"How disgusting. You're openly hoping and giddy about another attack on the US. You're everything wrong about the marginalized, fractured, demented sect of the Republican party.
Just ridiculous."
She's actually just acknowledging a fact that Biden himself asserted will be proven as such. What is disgusting is a blind belief in a president elect based on nothing more substantial than he's young, black, and has a pretty speech writer. (I'm sure the welfare check he's promising us all has nothing to do with it either right?) There is nothing else to go on. His record, what little there is, is a disaster, and has no "change" in it save for taking abortion to new and obscene levels. Other than that, you have voted blindly.
"Bin Laden Determine to Strike US"??? --Angry Dem
No you are wrong, again. The US and the media told the public ad nausea that Militant Islams was going to make a strike on the US certainly. They also said they believed it would be over sees and not on US soil. In the summer of 2001, terrorist alerts communicated on local news networks in most US cities was the norm. As I pointed out, and docs exist, Brian sent Kerry a video tape on how to beef-up security at Logan Airport. Kerry said it was too expensive, and would raise local taxes in his district, so he threw the tape in the Trashcan ( According to New York Post).
Liberals want to suppress this knowledge because it implicates them in general with doing and saying nothing -- in which was the case. Big finance liberals took out no news bulletins at their local news places or ran newspaper adds saying Al Qaeda will attack the USA. This is why they suppress that knowledge. Everyone in the US knew Al Qaeda was going to strike some US thing. We were and are at war with them since Osama said in late 1998, Bill Clinton is throwing firecrackers at us in Afghanistan, lets declare war on the US. So you are wrong, again, as usual.
Do you know anything about Logan Airport? If you do not you should not be speaking about 9/11/01. ( refer to my main post for more info). US Liberals try to paint everything happens bad in this world is because of republicans. It is called the moon-bat mentality.
" You're [ Repubs] openly hoping and giddy about another attack on the US" --Punchy
Standard lunatic talking points. You take this from the lunatic left on TV that intend the Republicans always want war. This is a fallacy arguement.
I am NOT "giddy" or hoping for another attack on U.S. soil, BUT, I am willing to bet, the terrorists are looking at somewhere like San Fran, or another bastion of "lib think"for an attack, because with all their insane logic and extremisim, they hate you libs and your blatant SINS and want you dead!
I merely dislike and am disgusted with ALL of you libs, but am willing to TRY to save you from the terrorists and YOURSELVES!
Believe it or not, the Islamic extremists do NOT want to TALK with any of you about ANYTHING, they only want you dead, the same as they want me dead.
Why is that so hard to get through your MORONIC, braindead heads?
Sorry about the html problem above.
I completely agree with Kris. To use 9/11 as a political pawn is cruel and without compassion. Many people died and their families were left behind to struggle with their losses, and extrapulating on why this horrid event even occurred.
I will NOT stoop to such a level.
President Bush did everything within his power to keep our nation safe from any further attacks. He did what he thought was best for this incredible and narcisstic nation. The brutal attacks from the MSM and Hollywood would have sent most men into hiding. President Bush stood his ground and continued regardless of negative publicity.
I hope, like President Reagan, he will be remembered as a great president.
Amy, (who has the toughest job in the Army)
Just want to let you know that a lot of us do know what is going on over there. My husband (3 tours in Nam Vet) and I have had many discussions regarding what is happening over there and what is reported.
I, too noticed that when they first started finding stuff it was broadcast and then all of a sudden, NOTHING was found. To broadcast what was found would be putting the troops more in harms' way, they would not only be dealing with terrorists, but there would be countries coming after the weapons. I think it was the right way to handle it, to keep it as hush hush as possible.
Gary,
I'm sure glad that the 550 METRIC TONS ended up in a safe place, like Canada, to be used for good, instead of Iran or someplace. That leaked out last summer.
There was plenty of stuff found there and we made sure it did not wind up in the wrong hands.
President Bush will walk out of office knowing he did everything in his power to keep us and our troops safe, and also gave freedom to 2 countries. IMHO: If being a scapegoat keeps your country and the people who defend it safe, it is a small price to pay.
Wow, I love all the intelligent elitist illuminati comments here!
President Bush DID make some mistakes. But in his position, in a country where the democrats are attacking him, where his intelligence is telling him that WMDs DO exist, where our country was attacked (btw... 9/11 was in Bush's presidency) I would not expect him to NOT make mistakes. Humans are not perfect. Even presidents. I EXPECT Obama to make mistakes. The president has one of, if not THE most criticized positions in all the world.
Bush will, unfortunately, not be remembered as a great president because of the power of the media... but I don't think that Obama could have done any better had he served eight years earlier.
With all due respect, we did get the real WMD of Iraq - Saddam Hussein.
"with all due respect" Bob, many would say that the "real WMD" is sitting in the oval office at the moment. Thankfully, he'll be de-armed shortly.
http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/was_it_recently_revealed_that_the_us.html
and the other links are at the bottom of the above artilcle.
I know "we didn't FIND it, as we already KNEW it was there"
So "70 MILLION" of our tax dollars shipped this out of Iraq,
Do you really think it was nothing? And if it was nothing, why didn't they just Fedex it to Canada?
"
July 5 marked the completion of the operation in which the United States removed 550 metric tons of yellowcake uranium from Tuwaitha, the facility that once served as the center of Iraq’s nuclear activities. The uranium was then shipped to Canada. Cameco Corp., a Canadian uranium producer, bought the material and plans to enrich it, before selling it to nuclear plants worldwide. According to Cameco’s Web site, yellowcake uranium, or uranium oxide, is uranium that has been milled and mined but requires further processing before it can be used as a fuel.
The transfer of the uranium involved stops in Baghdad and Diego Garcia, a U.S. military base in the Indian Ocean, as well as 37 military flights, before it finally arrived in Montreal. Securing and transporting the uranium cost the U.S. military nearly $70 million, which Iraq has pledged to partially reimburse. While the exact price Cameco paid for the uranium is unknown, a senior U.S. official told the AP that the deal was worth “tens of millions of dollars.”
Do you really think it can be reported what is found with the region so unstable and Iran next door?????

With NO due respect mv, the "many" you speak of think Obama will solve America's problems.
They will be EQUALLY as wrong on that subject too! ;-)
"...How disgusting. You're openly hoping and giddy about another attack on the US. You're everything wrong about the marginalized, fractured, demented sect of the Republican party..."
Seems to me Biden is the one to whom you refer... you know, Barack's number one guy? LOL!
Dang! I should have read all the comments bscause Tim beat me on the point.
Good-on-ya Tim.
