Go McCain!

March 1, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermudkitty

Amen. I'd take a bipartisan McCain over partisans like Obama and Hillary anyday.

And McCain is a hero with more than 18 months experience in the Senate! Go McCain!

March 1, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterAmy Proctor

Hey - McCain's your standard bearer, not mine.

March 1, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermudkitty

Standard bearer?

March 1, 2008 | Registered CommenterAmy Proctor

amy,
"And McCain is a hero with more than 18 months experience in the Senate! Go McCain!"

18 months? huh? lolol

March 1, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterThe Griper

Amy, he's the republican nominee, therefor your republican standard bearer, and the man you have no choice but to vote for.

What the good grief did you think I meant?

Seriously - you can't be as unaware as you pretend to be.

March 1, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermudkitty

I'm still backing Huckabee. He'll be the President in 2013 if he doesn't wrestle the nomination away from Mac. .

March 1, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohnny

"he's the republican nominee, therefor your republican standard bearer, and the man you have no choice but to vote for."

Say what?

I can vote for anyone on the ballot I choose, Rep, Dem, Libertarian, Communist, etc etc. Only you mind numbed lock steppin' Dems vote for the Dem no matter what. I can even write in Donald Duck if I want. John McCain may get the Rep nomination but by no means am I "required" to vote for him. That may be Dem party standard procedure, but in the Rep party we can vote McCain, vote for a third party or not vote.

Griper, meaning Obama has 18 months experience. That's it. That's his complete resume' except that he ran his campaign!

March 1, 2008 | Registered CommenterAmy Proctor

McCain wants to win this election. The Democrats seem willing to follow Obama over a cliff. Does the Republican Party wish to go with them by having Republicans take a hit on McCain every chance they can? Republicans need to be very afraid of Obama.

March 2, 2008 | Unregistered Commentervin

McCain's your guy.

March 2, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermudkitty

If the GOP does to McCain what they did to Bob Dole he loses. If McCain runs as John McCain as the maverack he is, he wins.
Be true to yourself John. Things will go better for youby November

March 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRenegade GOP

Renegade GOP,
I do not agree with significant aspects of McCain's policy, but I think you might have a point. He is right about the war and a some other issues, if he runs as a flip flopper on the other issues, it could hurt him dearly. This is especialy true since he is running against a candidate more about charisma then actual policies.

I like you, Amy. I don't know why you're trafficking in this trash

March 2, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterfoutsc

Trafficking in this trash? What do you mean, foutsc?

March 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterAmy Proctor

Does this exchange actually make sense to Republicans?
Comment #1) "Amy, he's the republican nominee, therefor your republican standard bearer, and the man you have no choice but to vote for."
Comment #2) "Only you mind numbed lock steppin' Dems vote for the Dem no matter what."

Amy, since you heart McCain, and you also heart the Pope, how do you square away the guy that McCain begged for his endorsement thinks the Pope is an agent of Satan?
I guess you still have "NO CHOICE" but to vote for the Republican "standard bearer"??? Whew! Some standard!

March 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJan

1) I don't heart McCain. I accept and tolerate.
2) I do indeed heart the Pope.
3) I have no proof that Hagee was "begged" for his endorsement but McCain probably isn't that well in tuned to Hagee's theology, or lack thereof.

Is this an attempt to shut out Catholic voters? If we vote for people who are completely in line with Church teaching we'd never vote for anyone, which I think is the point. Bush pushed condom use is Africa. Condoms are birth control, which is a sin in the Church. So I guess I shouldn't have voted for him, either.

McCain is pro-life and pro-military, which are the two biggest issues. Whatever Tom Dick and Harry endorse him isn't my problem.

Did you hear Louis Farakan endorsed Obama??

March 3, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterAmy Proctor

So Amy, that means you are what is called a Cafeteria Catholic.

The point is, this is what you get when you go with the GOP - he's your candidate, not mine. I hope your proud of him.

March 3, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermudkitty

Um, no, actually, John Kerry would be a cafeteria Catholic. John McCain is pro-life. That is the only political advice the Church gives to Catholics on voting: vote pro-life, NOT pro-choice.

I have given up my life for my faith. Your assertion is ignorant and just stupid. I adhere to all the doctrines of the Church both moral and spiritual.

Which Dem candidate do you back? You've never said.

March 3, 2008 | Registered CommenterAmy Proctor

You have not given up your life, Amy. Why in the world would you say that? What have you ever sacrificed, besides your husband, to a dangerous war that we were lied into in the first place.

What have you sacrificed? Given up your life. To those who really have, surely you must see how that statement would be offensive to their friends and family.

I suppose you don't support the death penalty. I suppose when you vote for someone who doesn't share your values, that's what you call a sacrifice.

I hadn't made up my mind about the dem candidates until my primary rolled around, and when it did, I made up my mind for Hillary. But I will dance a jig, and so will the rest of us on the left, rightwing media lies not withstanding, who ever gets the nod at this point, as I've told you time and time again.

March 3, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermudkitty

You support a candidate, Amy, who welcomes the endorsement of a well-know Catholic-hater. Now you reconcile that with your values. That's what makes you a Cafeteria Catholic when the rubber hits the road. And it's ok, if that's what you are, just admit it.
