David Paterson, New York’s governor replacing Eliot Spitzer who officially resigned in disgrace today after being exposed for years of liaisons with prostitutes while clamping down on prostitution in New York, was sworn in today as the first black and legally blind governor in NY history.
The new GOV Paterson revealed he is carrying on the northeastern politician’s long legacy of extramarital affairs when he admitted today he also has been unfaithful to his wife.
But his wife has been unfaithful, too, so it’s all good.
Is the whole country going to hell or is it just the Democrats???

On this one I think they should get a pass. They both cheated, and instead of getting divorced they stayed together, in addition they put it out at the very begining of his term. Hopefully this is the only skeleton in the closet.
The irony is dumbfounding. I don't understand why people go out and have sex with other people when they're having marriage problems. How does that help? Why not go to counseling before you start sleeping around? Sex outside of marriage is becoming like changing shoes.
"Is the whole country going to hell or is it just the Democrats???"
Oh, come on. Do you really want the laundry list of Republican adulterers and "perverts"?
i guess, i really be old hat. where i was brought up, a man revealed his own sins but defended the honor of a woman.
I've learned in life when a person tells you they don't do something, it's the first sign that they do.
When a person tells you they don't lie, you can be sure they're a liar.
He is a comedian, and has been famous for his comedic statements. I saw some of the swearing in, and it was funny. Who knows what is real or not about his personal life. Both dems and republicans have given him a green light of approval to replace someone (spitzer) that fought prostitution institution for 10 years while engaging in its uses at the same time.
I think we've been there, done that, grumpy. Democrat scandals outnumber Republicans 3-1, and many of them are gay men scandals. I'll give you three: Tom Foley, Ted Haggard and Larry Craig. Take that for what it's worth,
But I don't defend infidelity on either side, period. It's alarming to me that its so pervasive.
"I don't understand why people go out and have sex with other people when they're having marriage problems."
I heard Greg Laurie this morning give an analogy that went something like this:
We live our lives like we drive a car with bad alignment. If we let go of the steering wheel of the car, we'll veer off the road because it takes diligence on our part to keep it straight.
Our flesh is like the car with bad alignment because it wants to veer off the road of morality. If we give up control for even a second, we're doomed, because our flesh will always go toward the point of least resistance; an amoral state.
I'd agree with Rob. It is wrong to give in to temptation, devastating to never admit wrong doing and/or continue in that behavior, and even the majority of the populous says infidelity is wrong, it doesn't make it right. But if he and his wife have come to terms, forgiven each other, and are moving toward restoration of their marriage, then they should be applauded for overcoming adversity.
Why do married people cheat? Simple. Monogamy = Monotony.
Yeah, it's a sin. So is gluttony (fatness), sloth (laziness), and a variety of other behavior that we tolerate and even celebrate in this country. Why single out sexual immorality as a special case? No reason, unless you have a hangup about sex.
Why single out sexual immorality as a special case? No reason, unless you have a hangup about sex.
Glutany and laziness are 'sins' against oneself. infidelity is a sin against one's spouse.
I don't believe anyone here is hung up about sex, thought I don't know everyone.
I believe it's all about trust. Honor and integrity. If one doesn't plan on being faithful to one's spouse, then why swear an oath of commitment before family, friends, and God?
Doing that just makes one a liar as well as a cheat.
I have video of the news conference and Paterson admitted it becuase "I didn't want to be blackmailed."
That then, is unfortunate.
Sin is sin in the eyes of God. Not excusing adultery; I'm simply pointing out that it is no better or worse than the other major sins, and focusing on this sin alone raises questions in my mind about the person obsessing about it.
"I don't understand why people go out and have sex with other people when they're having marriage problems."
If a married couple of having problems, they're usually arguing. If they're arguing, they're probably not having sex. If they're not having sex with each other, they're probably going to get it from someone else and both men and woman cheat.
"Democrat scandals outnumber Republicans 3-1"
That's just such wishful thinking on your part. 9/11, Iraq war, Halliburton. Sure, Democrats have skeletons in closets, but all pale in comparison to the Republican dirt.
I'm talking about politicians, not history. There are more Democrats than Republicans who have been involved in scandals varying from sex, money laundering and so on than Repubulicans. Do a Wikipedia search for "political scandals".
9/11, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Hillburton are not scandals. One was a terrorist attack, one was a military operation and the other an oil company.
I smell conspiracy theories....
Thats right Amy, just nod your head, smile, and drink the Kool-aid...dont forget to wrap yourself in the flag.
st, is that how you defend immoral behavior among your elected officials? Well, then, same to you, except I don't expect you to wrap yourself in a flag.
Cheers!
what I can say: Welcome to our world..
Try to be real man that help to people.
