McCain Clinches GOP Nomination, Huckabee Drops Out

John McCain clinched the Republican nomination this Super Tuesday reaching the 1,191 delegate mark while Mike Huckabee finally dropped out of the race.  John McCain will certainly make a great commander in chief.  Can’t wait for the debates!

Now let’s talk VP…..

Huckabee gave a classy speech. I have to say this for Huckabee, he spent little money but still managed to make a connection with whole blocks of voters and win numerous states. Its very refreshing to see and quite good for the republican party.

So now you guys are stuck with a self professed liberal republican - but you didn't need him to tell you, you all already knew that. And the rest of the republican people in states voting in upcoming republican primaries don't have a voice.

Good work, republicans! I applaud you. Bravo!

Here's the scenario I see playing out:

1. Democrats take the WH in 08;
2. Democrat President eliminates the (highly effective) terror surviellance apparatus allowing us to intercept terrorist attacks;
3. America is hit again (God forbid);
4. Americans vote the GOP into power in the Congress in 2010;
5. Mike Huckabee is elected president in 2012.

Mud,
You better be carefull about laughing at the Republicans, your own party is mighty close to going over a cliff of self destruction.

I have always had a soft spot in my heart for McCain. I think the events of his life have shaped him into a better man. He is flawed-isn't everyone-, but I believe he is open about most of his life. I think people will connect with who he is.

RV - my party is very happy either way things turn out in our primaries. We are not only not going over a cliff, we are stopping the rightwing from leading anybody else over the cliff, and our party will clean up all the messes from the last eight years. Don't kid yourself.
