The Inspirational Story of Baghdad's School for the Blind
Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 11:42PM Kyra Phillips of CNN visited the Al-Noor School for the Blind in Baghdad, the only school of its kind in the capital city, where blind Iraqi children learn to read, write and play music. Phillips did a great job with this report.
Amazing. Uplifting. Inspirational. Heart-warming!

Wow ... that brought tears to my eyes. "God has given me cleverness ..." what precious children. And Ammar Ali ... a modern-day Annie Sullivan! His love for those kids is obvious. Thanks for posting that, Amy.
Well said, JennyW. A modern day Annie Sullivan. Well said!
Thank god these kids weren't killed when the bombs were raining down.
Isn't it great? Now that they don't have to worry about Saddam and child prisons, malnutrition or just disappearing, these children have the promise of a better future. GEN Petraeus has done an incredible job with the surge and the troops getting al-Qaeda and their bombs out of Baghdad.
HOOAH!
Now they just have to worry about vendettas and road side bombings.
The US military is working hard to prevent that. God bless those kids, they're fantastic.
All schools for the blind deserve great credit. This shouldn't be out of the ordinary. This should be par for the course.
Also, it's socialism.
