Anglican Bishop Equates Global Warming Skeptics with Child Molesters

OR More Proof the Anglican Church is Going Down the Tubes

Anglican Bishop Gordon Mursell of Stafford, England, preaches that people who ignore the “reality” of climate change are like child molesters.

Specifically, he compared environmental realists to the Austrian child sex monster Josef Fritzl, who fathered seven children by his daughter and locked them up in the basement for more than 20 years.

“Josef Fritzl represents merely the most extreme form of a very common philosophy of life: I will do what makes me happy, and if that causes others to suffer, hard luck.  In fact you could argue that, by our refusal to face the truth about climate change, we are as guilty as he is – we are in effect locking our children and grandchildren into a world with no future and throwing away the key.”

“We are right to be disgusted at these crimes. But mere disgust is too convenient. There are lessons for all of us to learn.”

Bishop Mursell said he didn’t mean to say “that people who refuse to accept the reality of global change are child abusers”, but he refused to retract his comments standing by the comments that they are “like” child abusers.  Mursell believes people are dying from climate change and that it will potentially kill billions.

This buttresses the point that environmentalism is a religion.

"This buttresses the point that environmentalism is a religion."

No, this buttresses the point that some people religious people are just as stupid as regular folk.

The bishop seems to have some difficulty with his metaphors and logic. One could also see an anti-German (Austrian) feeling lurking in his statement.

Okay, grumpy, agreed, but it is usually liberal religious or secularists who treat environmentalism as a religion. I think that's pretty clear.

I can't imagine how long they are going to continue down this road? They are so out of touch with reality. This would be funny if it wasn't so sad!

Oh, those Anglicans! It's just a made-up religion created so their fat king could divorce another wife without religious penalty. The hierarchy are just as pliant today to presumed authority as they were in the beginning.
