Obama’s Berlin Speech Gives Hope to the Universe

What is he running for President of the European Union now or just President of the Universe?

In case you missed Democratic presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama’s speech in Berlin, Germany yesterday, here is the speech in its entirety:

Part I     Part II     Part III

For those who cannot stomach the entire thing, the “best of” his speech, the parts you really shouldn’t miss, are below.

Highlights include:

  • Can’t seem to distance himself from his Muslim experience
  • Supporting millions of Iraqis who seek to rebuild their lives even as” we pass responsibility to the Iraqi government and finally bring this war to a close”
  • Saving the planet and stopping acts of God
  • Distancing himself from Bush’s legacy of “torture”
  • Uniting with the people of the world, people of Berlin, making hope universal

People of Berlin - people of the world - this is our moment. This is our time.

I think I found the solution to the worlds energy crisis. We have a renewable energy source; just have the Obama keep giving his gaseous speeches and our cars will run forever. The more I learn about him, the more I despise him. Especially, after this last fiasco:
Obama scraps visit to wounded troops
Jul 24 04:09 PM US/Eastern

BERLIN (AP) - Sen. Barack Obama scrapped plans to visit wounded members of the armed forces in Germany as part of his overseas trip, a decision his spokesman said was made because the Democratic presidential candidate thought it would be inappropriate on a campaign-funded journey.

Obama had been planning to go to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany before a flight to Paris. Gibbs said the stop was canceled because Obama decided "it would be inappropriate to make a stop to visit troops at a U.S. military facility as part of a trip funded by the campaign."

If the Obama was so worried about inappropriate use of campaign funds, he could of paid for it himself. He is a multi-millionaire for Godsake. And he wants to be those wounded soldiers Commander in Chief. This man is PATHETIC.

Obama was speaking diplomatically and saying that it's time to reform our alliances with Europe after too many years of going it alone. Our little "coalition" was 90 percent American to begin with, so why wouldn't you want to have more of an alliance with the world?

Terrorism is not a soverign nation. There is no capitol city. There is no set territory that can be won. It is something that has to be fought all over the globe and as big as we are the fact is that we cannot do it alone; we are stretched pretty thin already.

I cant tell if your bullet points are supposed to be sarcastic or not. I hope not, since every one of them is laudable (except....."stopping acts of god"? Wha?)

Probably should get used to Obama speeches.....he'll be giving quite a few of them over the next 8 years.

July 25, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterPunchy

Punchy, if it weren't for Obama selecting Supreme Court justices and being Commander in Chief I'd welcome him as President. Remember, just because Europeans. who have $8 A GALLON FOR GAS, love him, doesn't mean all Americans do. The race is very close in a race that he should be running away with, since he's coming off a 2 term Republican President.

Amy, as far as the CIC and Supreme Court Justices, you got to think about this: No matter who you like, the country has had both Republicans and Democrats in the White House for extended periods of time and we [the nation] are still doing just fine. Each side has to win some and each side has to lose some.

Amy: "... The race is very close in a race that he should be running away with, since he's coming off a 2 term Republican President."

SG: Speaking of "2" .... 2-0-0-0-0-0-0 Germans vs. "2" after a German sausage

Truth be known, there were a couple German tourists who also wanted their pictures taken with McCain '2', but only Lindsey Graham could stand the sausage farts ... they give McCain very bad gas apparently.

How can anyone have avoided this, it was on every friggin news station, including Fox News.

I stomached all I could and turned off the tv and grabbed a book to read.

Although, I did manage to see a hilarious video clip on MTV making fun of him for alwasy flipping-flopping his stances. He can't make up his mind. It was pulled off the air. Apparently, it was too controversial or something like that.

The man is a joke.

Daw: "... Sen. Barack Obama scrapped plans to visit wounded members of the armed forces in Germany as part of his overseas trip, a decision his spokesman said was made because the Democratic presidential candidate thought it would be inappropriate"

SG: ... once he learned some of the soldiers might be in uniform, because of ”… the Do's and Dont's for Troops and Politics from the Political Activities by Members of the Armed Forces on Active Duty. “

SG: How un-(R) .... the book, I mean.

Now Leti, this is just a bit of friendly advise, but you might want to think of canceling your cable for the next 8 years or so. Think of the sayings over 108 months - 'CON-servatively speaking' $2500, or more 'liberally', $5000!

See ... we 'alwasy' do better under Liberals

The godling seems to think he is getting five-year terms. He did say he would be meeting with these leaders over the next 8-10 years while representing the 57 states.

SG: Would that you were so lucky with Mc Gaffe ...who flogs his foreign policy bona fides in Czechoslovakia on the Iraq and Pakistan border, in front of the Fudge Haus or in a supermarket beside Dole products ....

Really there (R)-Job, even though McGaffe, at his age, is going to loose his bearings periodically, who are his handers .... (D)emocrats!?

Snerd,
Whats Obama's excuse for visiting 57 states?

July 25, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterrobert verdi

Your godling does photo ops in front of the place where sieg heil originated and was loved by Hitler because it was a monument to Prussian victory over nations who would eventually be American allies . Not exactly sure how that is supposed to inspire confidence in his foreign policy judgement since he obviously has no grasp of history.
At least I hope he doesn't. I would hate to think he deliberately made a speech like that in that place knowing that history.

SG: Ah yes ... Quite the point! I heard he drove in a Volks Wagon once too.

Now I know you absolutist, Black and White folks won't like this idea, but there are other interpretations. A Black man speaking on the spot a former Arian and White Supremacist spoke while denigrating people of colour, suggests a certain triumph over those dark forces, a Jesse Owens moment, a an example of 'Hope' and even the greatness of America.

'Historically' speaking of 'grasp', I've often found that one's interpretation of an event is often more a reflection of them, than the event itself.

Yeah I see your point. What does it say about person giving unquestioning support to a man who thinks there 57 states, that presidential terms are flexible between 4-5 years and expects people that he sat in a church for 20 years and had no clue the pastor is a hate monger?

........you'd think that would say a tad less about a person than one who shows "unquestioning" support of a President that has cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of civilians and soldiers...........

Amy,
Your review of Obama's speech sounds as if you can't stomach the rhetoric used. Maybe Obama's rhetoric is too advanced for you.

July 28, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterPolitically Correct

PC, Obama's rhetoric is too insulting for me, not too advanced. If anything I know more about the GWOT, Iraq and the military than he does but apparently he knows he's lost the military vote and is going for the uninformed masses. In Europe, no less!

July 28, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterAmy Proctor

Your response only fortified my position.

How many time have you traveled to the middle east? Or, Iraq for that matter?
Are you presuming to be more educated, experienced, or worldly as Senator Obama?

Senator Obama seems to be getting a plethora of slack for his statements and speeches. One thing he has established is the fact that he is intelligent. And, it just seems as if some give him slack because they can't stomach, subconsciously, that a black male is not only running for the presidency, but that he is incredibly intelligent.

July 30, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterPolitically Correct

I applaud intelligence, and I have always been an advocate for higher learning. I strongly believe that it takes rational thought and advanced intelligence to make a great leader and make this world a better place.

July 30, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterPolitically Correct

How has my response fortified your position? How many times have you traveled to the Middle East? You didn't mention it.

Blacks have been much more qualified in Republican positions than Democratic positions. Condi Rice is brilliant, Colin Powell....

I respect your opinion.
