Obama Won’t Visit U.S. Troops Without Media

Wonder why?

On Barack Obama’s first ever trip to Afghanistan, he said of meeting with U.S. troops:

“This is my favorite thing to do.”

However, during his visit to Germany 2 days ago, he scratched a visit with wounded U.S. troops at Landstuhl Hospital  in Germany where many soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan recuperate and undergo rehabilitation. He was told he could meet with troops with a DOD photographer in the capacity of senator, not a presidential candidate but would have to scrap the media entourage.

Apparently he was unwilling to do so.  Obama won’t visit wounded troops as senator or a presidential candidate. Bummer.

He did meet with German troops, however.

CNN reported:

The visit was expected to come after Obama’s speech in Berlin, Germany, but the campaign suddenly announced Thursday the stop had been canceled, saying Obama had determined it would be “inappropriate.”

McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said in a statement:

“Barack Obama is wrong. It is never ‘inappropriate’ to visit our men and women in the military.”

So…. Obama’s favorite thing to do is visit the troops if he can bring his lapdogs and media entourage. I see. I’m an Army wife. I get it, Obama.

F-L-A-S-H .... McCain ENDORSES Obama's TIMETABLE on Iraq

During a Friday interview with CNN, McCain called a 16-month withdrawal from Iraq "a pretty good timetable."

The truth of the matter is, Obama was told by his physician he shouldn't go, due to his allergies to mold

REUTERS: "We told him he could visit Landstuhl (Regional Medical Center in western Germany) with his Senate staff, but not with his campaign staff," said Army Lt. Col. Elizabeth Hibner.

SG: I wonder where his senate staff was ... in the States possibly. AND where in that does it say he can visit alone!?

Now we know "WHAT HAPPENED" ... Politicization ... They (R) invoking f(R)ee-speech zones and barring access ...

Here's one for '(R)-Job' ... "How Ge(R)man ..."

Snerd
p.s. Hey ... did ja hear about McCain's endorsement of Obama's TIMETABLE

Snerd, Obama is traveling with Senators Hagel and (I forget the other guy). They are his cohorts he could bring along with any staffers who would normally accompany the Senator on his trips. So he had a smaller entourage he could have brought with him minuse the MSM and campaign staff.

Really, stop making excuses for the guy. He was told by his physician he couldn't go to the HOSPITAL because of the mold?! And did this directive by his doctor come before or after Obama had already arranged the trip?

He cancelled when it looked like he wouldn't get press coverage out of it and he wants to continue riding the wave attention he's been getting. There's really no other explanation.

snerd,
This is politcs, get over it. You seem happy to leep at any McCain gaffe or error, Obama fumbled and its one of the things his media tour will be remembered for.

Snerd,
On 16 months, I swear Maliki might be pretty damn shrewd. Watching you and everyone else fall over each other over a 2 year extension of our troops in Iraq while leaving the door open to a permanant mission of training, nation building, and terrorist operations is quite fun. All the credibility you guys are giving to Obama and Maliki's endorsement is going to boomerang when the actual agreement is reached. The Iraqi's are going to have us stay their for quite some time, apparently a residual force of 20-30 thousand US troops, maybe even 50,000 is cool with you guys. On top of that more fighting and war in Afghanistan. All of this being done with the approval of Senator Obama! You anti-Bush types sure are something.

sNERD (yeah, I can play with people's nicks too), you sound like those DU DUmmies who want people arrested for not saying Obama's name with enough respect or reverence.
The guy is a freshman senator who votes, "present" and has the backbone of an eclaire and whines about the smallest of perceived slights. Much like his followers.

The fact is he found out he couldn't use troops for props in a political event. Just because one of his advisers has proclaimed him to be president (without benefit of election which is what the DUmmies want) does not make him president. He does not get to dictate the terms of his visits with the troops. Like any other civilian. When he found this out, he took his marbles and went elsewhere. Mold allergy? Strange how that became a problem AFTER he was told he couldn't have his photo op.
Look for yet another attempt by Democrats to throw out the absentee ballots of deployed military personnel on some flimsy pretext this November. Why?

(R)-Job: "... Just because one of his advisers has proclaimed him to be president (without benefit of election which is what the DUmmies want) does not make him president."

SG: Yah I keep hearing this, from this blog. You know there (R)-Job, when you (R) pointing a finger at someone, you've got three more pointing back at you.

Take a look at your own entries here, and those of your cohorts. There's virtually nothing about Mc"Whats-His-Name". It's all anti-Obama.

It's like you guyz have already thrown in the towel and anointed Obama president... You haven't been able to "Stayed the McCourse" as it were .

I guess DUmmies 'is' what DUmmies 'do', there Gump

Snerd
p.s. Obama's in England today ... I guess we're going to see Mc"Whats-His-Name" at a Fish and Chips shop today

(R)-job: "... When he found this out, he took his marbles and went elsewhere."

SG: SEE! That's my point! You pick an analogy the way Mc"Whats-His-Name" picks photo opts,

It reminds people that Obama has all his marbles, that he can pick them up and that there isn't a hole in the bag ...

Not only that but the 'went elsewhere' phrase reminds people of all McInane's geographic gaffes, while trying to posture with all his fo(R)eign policy experience, anomalies ...

Wow, the Obama has locked up the European vote. Funny, thing though all this fawning, glowing coverage isn't really translating to much of a bump in the polls, you can't even characterize it as a blip. The Obama has had the best week in the HISTORY of the world and the polls show it's virtually a tie. The voting public has been polled and they know which candidate the MSM favors. In the end it might boomerang on the MSM and the Obama.

Da"W": " ... The Obama has had the best week in the HISTORY of the world and the polls show it's virtually a tie."

SG: WHAT! .... (R) we defining "Tie" the way we (R) defining torture, now

A Poll of Polls (average of the Polls), shows a 'Da"W"-Tie' like this

ELECTORAL VOTES
Solid or Leading
Obama; 233
McFlip-Flop: 163
Toss Up: 137

So Obama could loose 100 of 137 Toss Ups and still be the next President

When they force the Toss Ups into Either/Or
Obama; 322
Mc'Sperience; 216
... a 'Tie' even the Sup(R)eme Cou(R)t couldn't take away from him
