Iraq Wants U.S. Timetable For Withdrawal…Sort Of

Iraq’s National Security Adviser Mowaffak al-Rubaie said Iraq is looking for a complete withdrawal of U.S. troops and there “should not be permanent bases in Iraq unless these bases are under Iraqi control,” maybe within 3-5 years.

Hmm, I seem to remember Democrats mocking the McCain plan to leave Iraqi by 2013

The media is reporting this as if it is a winning argument against the war. However, the Iraqi government wants a withdrawal as long as conditions on the ground are stable enough.

This is victory, and the Iraqi government will allow US troops to train and support the Iraqi military. The deal is not out yet, but I believe the idea is that there will be no usa troops doing the busisnes of daily patrols, border protection, internal security, which in the long run isn't our job anyway.

The media has been trying to spin this as a reason to withdrawal troops. Patience worked in the counterinsurgency strategy as generals and dod officials alike pleaded for it. Now, patience in withdrawal is vital to progress as well.

No one wants to be in Iraq on either side except that there's a job to finish.

Hmm, I seem to remember Democrats mocking the McCain plan to leave Iraqi by " or - 100 years or so" ... "it doesn't matter" ... "Okay, I wanta get elected so, eeny meeny miney moe ... 2013" ...

AND that's how McInane is going to balance the budget!

snerd,
i don't know who founded the principles of liberalism but i do know this, that they'd roll over in their graves and weep at how those principles have been debased by the likes of you, that is if you present yourself as a liberal.

It's sad that Snerd still cannot figure out McCain's comment about being in Iraq until the mission is complete. I guess thats' not a concept libs can understand, which explains Somalia, doesn't it?

Amy: "... It's sad that Snerd still cannot figure out McCain's comment about being in Iraq until the mission is complete. "

SG: Until "Mission Accomplished" ... You mean:

* WMD .... Ooops!
* Look Yellow Cake ... that was non-weapons grade and known to exist before the invasion ... Ooops!.
* because Saddam won't let the UN weapons inspectors in ... Oooops! Order them out so the US can start its bombing
* depose Saddam and appoint Chalibi ... Ooops! Iraqis won't elect someone CON-victed of fraud in Jordan, who fooled the USA withh false 'intel', and who has ties with Iran
* de-Ba'athification .... Ooops! Shia Iraq becomes an Iranian ally ... Ooops!
* Free democratic elections ... .... Ooops! except if they elect someone we don't like, as in Palestine
* Sovereignty ... as in when ur' sovereign because sovereignty means yur sovereign
* Sovereignty is f(R)ee0dumb to Loot ... Ooops!
* 'til there's an Oil sharing agreement ... with U$ Oil Co(R)po(R)ations ... oh and dah, between Iraqis too, of course, who used to own it before any agreement with the U$
* the Global front on Terrorism ... Ooops! if you don't count Afghanistan ... .... Ooops! and after a couple of years you can tell the difference between an insurgent and an Al Qaeda Islamist ... Ooops!
* 'til "W" can land on the Lincoln and declare 'victo(R)y' .... Ooops!
* we'll stand down as they stand up ... okay but we can't leave then because we can't risk the peace gains .... Ooops!
* tamp down violence for the purposes of political reconciliation .... Ooops!
* OK, ok, okay ... just tamp down violence
* 'til the USA national coffers have been raided by CEO Cheney and his cabal ... I mean a SURPLUS, what was Clinton thinking!?
* 'til they ask 'US' to leave .... Ooops!
* etc.

Oh and the collateral 'Victo(R)y benefits' of degrading the military .... Ooops!, and handing the M.E. to Iran on a platter .... Ooops!, providing training and recruitment for Al Qaeda .... Ooops!, and that 'Wanted! Dead or Alive" poster still hangin' in Afghanistan .... Ooops! where the original global front on terror was and now currently is ........ Ooops!

"W"a(R) is peace .... "Mission Accomplished"

I was going to say I'd never seen a looser loser, but unfortunately there are quite a few maroons like Snerd telling each other how clever they are. Reality, however, will not be mocked, and their uppance is coming apace.
