MSNBC Breaking News Ticker: 'How Many Houses Does Palin Add to Republican Ticket?'

The main stream media has it out for Republican vice-presidential selection Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska. During her speech yesterday with John McCain after being announced, this is how MSNBC broke the news with their “breaking news” ticker:

BREAKING NEWS:  How many houses does Palin add to the Republican ticket?

Fair and balanced media bias.  More proof MSNBC is in the tank for Barack Obama.

I don't knw about the houses but what I'm wondering is. Who is raising the 5 children?

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermfwic

The above comment is going to be the liberal anti-Palin mantra. Liberals are so responsible. They kill their children in the womb rather than raise too many of them at once.

A couple generations ago when the big family that entered politics was named Kennedy, having large families was seen as a sign of magnanimity by the parents.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohnny

That's right ! and "Mrs." Kennedy took care of the children while, "Mr" Kennedy was at work being one of the finest U.S. Presidents this world has ever known.

These day's, children are something that pop out, and are put on the shelf because, under the Republican way. Everybody needs to work 24/7 to pay their greedy capitalist induced life sucking bills.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermfwic

Wrong.
Nowadays, liberal democrats back Planned Parenthood so that minority babies will be killed and that societies in the West will continue in their plummeting birth rates and eventually be overcome with Muslim immigrants.

Liberals in America = smaller families, larger government, heavier taxes, and fewer freedoms.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohnny

mfwic must be kidding. You won't find anyone in the Republican party who'd advocate letting surviving aborted babies die alone in a soiled hospital closet floor, but you will find a Democrat running for the highest office in the U.S. who voted for it.

You will also find liberal women "shelving" their babies in abortion morgues and day care centers.

I wonder if you'd say the same thing if Obama had 3 more children? Doubtful.

How is success and financial stability greedy? It is Republicans who give more money to charity than libs. Red states are more generous than blue states. McCain gives more to charity than Obama.

I think you have your facts backwards, but thanks anyway.

August 30, 2008 | Registered CommenterAmy Proctor

Sarah Palin has already done MORE than her share by bringing 5 new new Christian Americans into the world.

Liberals ignore the demographics - and the tradition of the power of motherhood.

Most liberals don't have the guts or generosity to bring 5 children into the world. Sarah Palin has done it while leading Americans in example and policy. There simply is no liberal correspondent to Mrs. Palin's shining examplof both motherhood and patriotic leadership.

BTW, she has a son in the US Army Infantry deploying to Iraq.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterJohnny

Well, truly, I didn't think the Obamaiots, Obama campaign, Demockacrats, liberals and leftists -- including those pretend journalists and news media outlets that are part of Obama's campaign -- could look more silly, be more unprofessional, be more sexist, be more loutish, be more stupid.

But there's always further they seem to be able to go inthat moral and social and ehtical sewer in which they live.

Let's count it favorably, though. Were Gov. Palin -- and now the McCain-Palin ticket not so frigthening to all of them, well, do you think they'd be behaving as they are now?

What they don't understand is, is this: They should be writing about Obama, or whatever his real name is, and all the "good" and "hope" and "change" that came out of Denver.

They're too incorrigible and predictable, though. They cannot not stem the hatred and excrement that emanates from their very dark, hard, morally anchorless hearts.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterCKA in Red State USA

Isn't mfwic being a tad bit sexist suggesting that a woman can't work and raise her children???

Besides, that's what the manslave is for. He seems like a good man.

August 30, 2008 | Registered CommenterAmy Proctor

Opps. Got tied up in nots.

I meant to say, at the end, the DLLs and OMSM cannot stem the hatred and execrement that emanates from their hearts.

There's simply too much of it to be contained in hearts already supersaturated with that execrement.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterCKA in Red State USA

Hey ! It's between a Woman and God if she wants to keep her baby. You can't force someone to be a parent if they don't want to be one. Otherwise, we would have a zillion unwanted babies for the Gov to care for. And Uncle Sam makes a lousy father and mother.

Look at it this way. Sarah Parlin is sitting there with her little finger on the button some day, and at the same time 2 of her 5 children are sick with the flu or something worst.

I know how moms think... And it's always the children first.

And AMY ! There is a fine line between being greedy and being in a profitable business that is healthy to the whole community. This "Trickle Down Ecomomics of your party means that "The Rich get all the toys to play with, while the middle class get to work on them in order to just pay their living cost.

Trickle Down Eco dose'nt work. It didn't with the first Bush and didn't with the second Bush, and won't work with the 3rd Bust either.

By the way...You're a good looking girl.

I actually felt some of my brain cells die from reading your post.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterNyctalus Lasiopterus

Who's going to take care of the children?

(1) She has a husband and her older children are teenagers. Maybe among themselves they might manage to help her out.

(2) If a man with children runs for office, no one asks this question. Biden's wife was killed in a car accident while he was in the Senate, leaving him as the single parent of two children. Did anyone suggest that he should drop out of the Senate so that he would have time to take care of the children? No, instead he commuted from Delaware to Washington daily, spending 10-12 hours a day in Washington, while someone else (his mom? a nanny?) actually took care of the kids all day - and everyone says his willingness to commute proves what a concerned father he was.

Puh-leeze.

The answer is: 3 houses.

She has a main residence, and two "recreational" houses. Just like you.

(And it's republicans, and the religious right who don't approve of working women.)

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermudkitty

Cathy. I come from a family where my mother was not allowed by my father to get a job. Her job was to take care of the 3 boy's and 1 girl.

We had a new car every year and a swimming pool in every yard, and on ONE income.

Also: I have a friend that works with troubled teens. She claims that it is professional knowledge that mostly all troubled teen come from homes where the mother was away working all day. Notice how many teens are on Psc. meds. these days and how many mothers are working. Put 1+1 together, and you'll come up with, Bush=Bush=24/7/365 work.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterrobert verdi

Mfwic,
Children are something people have because they love them, they provide hope and meaning to us all. Of course there are people who are unfit parents, but to view childbirth as "aspects of the greedy system" is taking your crackpot ideology to the extreme.

Amy. All this stuff is between them and GOD. If a mother wants an abortion, it's between her and GOD.If a doctor wants to perform an abortion, it's between the Dr. and GOD.

You can't control every one's personal life. You can only teach them what the bible say's is right from wrong and let them take it from there. IMO.

The problem is, nobody is teaching right from wrong anymore. They're just teaching the kids how to get rich.( little off topic)(sorry) IMO

Of course their bias...I dont happen to think its right but FoxNews started this when they decided to be the Propaganda arm of the GOP.

Now other "news" media is doing exactly what they have been doing and people are crying foul.

The fact is EVERY outlet that excessively leans one way or another harms all of us because they fail in their role as a check on power.

Does anyone else find it ironic that Amy's page is called BLUF?

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterst

Amy,

you and I often disagree, but I am 100% convinced by the MSNBC-Obama love affair. I love Palin for VP, she is no neo-con, she is for small government and use of the veto. She is a little fishy on the gas-tax (cutting it for short-run gain). I love her position on state's rights.

I think a democrat president and 60 democrat senators will ushur in the worst period in modern american history. I don't like McCain's view on war (I am anti-foriegn war) but the gridlock he would preside over with a democratic congress would be the best thing for this country. Let's do everything we can to elect a republican!

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterdisagree

The Liberals have just finally hammered the last nail in their own coffin. By attacking Palin for being a successful woman (who is doing better then her husband) and still raising well to do children they have just reversed all of their own feminist movements and regulated women back to the housewife only.

They attack Palin on having too many kids, not aborting her youngest, being a successful woman and raising kids, not having enough experience for the VP but she has more experience then Obama and he's running to be President.

Seems like to me that the Liberals are saying that it's more important who the next in line is rather then the President himself, so are they saying that when Obama craps out that Biden will be there to do what's needed. The Liberals are being sexist, and going against everything they have preached about for years.

How can so many Americans support Abortion? For anyone with common sense it's an obvious moral sin, not even considering even the religious side of the issue. Only in the case of rape, incest and grave danger to the mother should abortion be allowed. The act of stopping the life of a developing baby is murder.

How has this country became so digusting and vile? This is not the American dream that our forefathers had for this nation.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterChristopher

Christopher,

I dont think anyone would say they are "For" abortion.

What most people do agree on is a womans right to choose. It is not for you or I to decide, but a very personal and emotional decision that individuals should be allowed to make on their own.

Outlawing abortion will not stop those that wish to have one, It will only drive those that want one into back alley offices or they will take it upon themselves to abort the child through various means. Remember the days of coat hanger abortions?

The option of abortion will still be available to those that have the means to fly to a country that allows it. The wealthy will continue to have them.

I agree with this part of your comment: "Only in the case of rape, incest and grave danger to the mother should abortion be allowed."

Sara Palin disagrees with that, as does Amy Proctor.

But it is not up to THEM to make the decision. It is up to the individual. The state should not be allowed to control what goes on with anyones body. The United States is not China. Thankfully we still have individual freedoms in this country, even if some of those freedoms are ugly and morally wrong.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterst

st,
can we agree that partial birth abortion is an abomination.

August 30, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterrobert verdi

Apart from the senseless Marxist, the comments here are right on. Obama insists he represents Hope and Change, and then teams up with a senator who is the epitome of statism. If Obama had chosen a young VP with new ideas, he would be walking away with this race. But he didn't lost it outright when he chose Slow Joe. He lost it when McCain chose Palin, and stole from the Dali Bamba his mantra of Hope and Change.

The media will do its best to patronize Governor Palin, but she's going to be hugely popular - wait and see. After the rescheduled Republican convention, McCain will be up by 8 and the messiah will be pulling out unholy characters from the Chicago underworld to save him. There's no saving a mirage...

Time to order the bubbly.

Four - if you count the Alaskan Governor's Mansion. (Not the VP quarters - which is also a mansion, Amy.)

The point being is not that she doesn't deserve what ever she's worked for honestly, the point is she doesn't relate to ordinary people.

And she's part of the Steven's machine. You guys are going to find that out soon enough.

RV - Palin is a tool of the Stevens' machine, who is a creationist - that means she believes in talking snakes - and against women's reproductive rights. She's barely qualified to be governor, much less president, if John McCain were to drop dead a month into his term.

August 31, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermudkitty

Amy - the fact that Palin is a creationist means that she believes in talking snakes.

August 31, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermudkitty

Good grief! Palin would be the VICE President. Her only Constitutional duty is to sit in the Senate to break tie votes. The only pupose of the Vice President is to assume the presidency if the President becomes incapacitated.

So while she is sitting in the Senate waiting for McCain to die, Palin will have plenty of time to raise her children. It's not like VP is a hard job.

That was not a talking snake, fool. The myth makes very clear it was Satan in disguise, play acting, street theater. You should be very familiar with dressing up to pretend you are someone or something you are not and failing miserably in the end.

I suppose I can't blame you though... the person you believe will lead this country down a path in line with your ideology is essentially a facade and that has you panicked, and with no facts you feel you have no choice but to make some up. As for Vietnam - it's a matter of history that Eisenhower engaged us in the conflict, and that Kennedy escalated the war. You must be very young not to know that Kiethie, or very ignorant. A simple google will tell you. Try it.

August 31, 2008 | Unregistered Commentermudkitty

Sorry Mudkitty, neither young nor wrong on this.

I'm assuming you didn't bother to read what I shared nor follow up on the reference I gave. Or, I will allow the possibility you and I are talking passed each other.

Johnson 1963-1969

Kennedy increased the number of "military advisors" significantly, but was opposed to sending combat troops. From Wiki:

--- Kennedy's policy toward South Vietnam rested on the assumption that Diem and his forces must ultimately defeat the guerrillas on their own. He was against the deployment of American combat troops and observed that "to introduce U.S. forces in large numbers there today, while it might have an initially favorable military impact, would almost certainly lead to adverse political and, in the long run, adverse military consequences."

U.S. involvement escalated in the early 1960s and combat units were deployed begining in 1965. Involvement peaked in 1968 at the time of the Tet Offensive. Escalation of the Vietnam War officially started on the morning of January 31, 1965, when orders were cut and issued to mobilize the 18th TAC Fighter Squadron from Okinawa to Danang air force base (AFB). ----

So yes, Kennedy increased the number of US personnel but Johnson inserted the combat troops and brought us into the quagmaire Dems like to refer to... but either way, they were both Dem presidents which was my original point.

Sadly, while I actually enjoy reading much of what you write, some of your more recent stuff i somewhat trollish in nature.
