Pontiff Breaks Wrist a Week After Shaking Hands with Obama

One week after Pope Benedict XVI welcomed U.S. President Barack Obama to the Vatican with a hand shake, the pontiff fell on vacation in Italy, breaking his right wrist.

Coincidence, or is God trying to tell Pope Benedict something?

Amy, good perception. But do you think so?

So God is punishing a man who has dedicated his life to serving Him? I think He is more likely to punish Obama rather than the Pope.

My comments are sarcastic but I am very disappointed in the Pope's photo op with Obama, shaking his hand, giving him a place of honor in the Vatican of all places, the Holy City!

In my studies of Obama's health care plan I have learned that he is seeking to embed funding for abortions, a direct contradiction to what he told Pope Benedict about wanting to reduce the numbers of abortions. He is at war with the elderly and plans to reduce their care because it's just too expensive, leaving those in society, babies and the elderly, whom liberals pretend to fight for, vulnerable to disease and death.

Everything that the Church stands for in its pro-life platform, Barack Obama is in direct opposition to. Barack Obama's radical agenda, from voting against the Born Alive Infant Protecton Act, not wanting his daughter to be "punished with a baby" (hey, how about not punishing a baby with your irresponsible sexual behavior?), his comments to the Planned Parenthood conference in 2007 that "men have the sense to know that abortion helps them, too, etc., etc., is DIABOLICAL and the Pontiff erred in rolling out red carpet for this anti-life Marxist.

I'm really disappointed and franky it wouldn't surprise me if God is sending Pope Benedict, whom I deeply love, a profound message.

Jesus said it is better to cut off the part of the body that causes you to sin rather than to offend a disciple with childlike faith in Christ. He said it would be better for that man to tie a millstone around his neck and cast himself into the sea than to offend one of those "little ones".

Well, I'm one of those disciples and I'm offended that a radical Marxist like Barack Obama was welcomed into the Vatican. He shows a tendancy toward eugenics, especially with the elderly and unborn, and Hitler may as well have been in the Vatican with the Pope.

There is nothing wrong with the Pope inviting a head of state to the Vatican to warn him of his impending judgment and to urge him to repent of his sins, particularly when he calls himself a Christian as Obama does, although he hasn't been in church since Easter. I wish the Pope had done that instead. Many of us are quite disheartened in how the Church is sucking up to this Marxist who we are allowing to tear down our beliefs in public with his sick policies, especially when we submit to Church teachings for the sake of Christ.

Quagmire, I was being sarcastic. I don't think God punished the Pope, but then again, I don't know that he didn't.

If God is more likely to punish Obama, why hasn't he?

Obama may be like Pharoah in Egypt. Hard to tell.

There is a certain amount of irony to the issue.
