What is forest bathing?

Forest Bathing is the practice of using your five senses to immerse yourself in the healing power of trees. Although the term originates in Japan, the science behind healing through forest bathing is universal and knows no borders.

In the 1980’s, scientist Dr. Qing Li, Chairman for the Japanese Society for Forest Medicine, conducted extensive research in Tokyo into what he calls “forest therapy” and the connection between physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and time spent in forests. The results show incredible improvement in strengthening the immune and cardiovascular systems, mood, and quality of life.

What I Do…

I lead small groups of three-eight people through an intimate two hour walk in one of Montana’s beautiful forests (usually in Glacier National Park). I’ll show you how to incorporate this healing practice into your life, no matter where in the world you live. These guided walks are appropriate for any fitness level and are especially wonderful for those who struggle with the effects of abuse or Post Traumatic Stress. If you are a survivor of emotional, spiritual, sexual, narcissistic or any other form of abuse, this “forest therapy” is particularly helpful.

Choose Your Experience

  • This is a one-on-one experience is for individuals suffering the effects and triggers of trauma, abuse and/or intense stress. During this outing, we’ll concentrate on stopping your fight-or -flight response and resetting your rest-and-recover response so you can start to live the life you deserve. You’ll learn how to incorporate the practice of forest bathing therapy in your own life no matter where you live.

    Two or four hour forest bathing therapy walks can be selected in this option.

  • The small group option allows for a two hour guided walk through the forest with other like-minded individuals needing to reset and recalibrate their nervous systems for increased mental, emotional and physical health. You’ll experience a peace and calm that you can integrate into your every day life, no matter where you live.
